Cremaine Booker, known as ThatCelloGuy, is a Nashville-based cellist, composer, and arranger whose work spans classical music, gospel, R&B, and contemporary recording. His touring work includes Hozier and Sons of Serendip; his recording credits include The Lion King, Geostorm, Masters of the Air, and PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie. A former principal cellist of the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra and The Jackson Symphony, he releases music and shares performances and arrangements as ThatCelloGuy.

Full biography

Cremaine Booker, professionally known as ThatCelloGuy, is an internationally touring cellist, composer, arranger, and recording artist based in Nashville, Tennessee. Known for his versatility and expressive musicianship, Booker has built a career bridging classical performance, contemporary music, gospel, R&B, and cinematic orchestration.

His career has taken him to stages around the world, including international tours with Hozier and Sons of Serendip. He has performed with and contributed recordings to projects involving Hans Zimmer, Mariah Carey, John Legend, Chris Stapleton, Robbie Williams, Carrie Underwood, India.Arie, Joss Stone, Black Violin, Sheryl Crow, The War and Treaty, Lauren Daigle, Keb' Mo', and Michael McDonald, among others.

His playing has been featured on recordings including Mariah Carey's Here for It All (2025), John Legend's LEGEND (2022), The War and Treaty's Lover's Game (2023), and Robbie Williams' BRITPOP (2026), and on scores for Disney's The Lion King (2019), Geostorm (2017), Masters of the Air (2024), and PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie (2023). His video game work includes solo cello for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown (2024), Ruined King: A League of Legends Story (2021), Darksiders Genesis (2019), Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical (2023), and Absolum (2025).

His classical background includes serving as principal cellist of both the Nashville Philharmonic Orchestra and The Jackson Symphony, along with performances with the Iris Orchestra, Opera Birmingham, Des Moines Metropolitan Opera, Trevecca Symphony, Sewanee Symphony, and Roy "Futureman" Wooten's Black Mozart Ensemble.

As ThatCelloGuy, Booker has reached more than 280,000 combined followers and subscribers across YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook through original arrangements, collaborative performances, and creative explorations of the cello. He holds degrees from Middle Tennessee State University and performs on a modern cello gifted to him by William H. and Judith Scheide.
